I. Purpose

a. The purpose of UTPC is to connect UT students with a shared interest in poker through free tournaments and other related events.

II. Membership

a. Any UT student is eligible to become a UTPC member. One is considered a member if he/she registers to play in any of the free tournaments.

b. Membership is free.

III. Officers

a. UTPC officers will consist of the President and Tournament Director.

b. The duties of the President shall include:

i. Scheduling and conducting events excluding poker tournaments

ii. Maintaining a list of members

iii. Acting as the financial liaison for the club

c. The duties of the Tournament Director shall include:

i. Scheduling, publicizing, and conducting poker tournaments

ii. Serving as authority during poker tournaments

iii. Ensuring that winners receive their prizes

iv. Aiding the President in their duties

v. Currently enrolled in the University of Texas at Austin.

IV. Elections of Officers

a. Elections will take place during an agreed time and place.

b. Officers will be elected by a simple majority. In the event of a tie, a second round of voting will take place limited to the two candidates with the highest amount of votes in the first round.

V. Meetings

a. UTPC  meetings will be called at the discretion of the President

VI. Poker Tournaments

a. Poker tournaments shall be held at least once every calendar month.

b. Poker tournaments shall be free to enter and restricted to UTPC members.

VII. Constitution and Amendments

a. The Constitution shall be adopted by a two-thirds vote of members

b. Amendments shall be adopted by a two-thirds vote of present members

VIII. Statement of Non-Exclusivity

a. UTPC is open to all members of the UT community. UTPC does not discriminate against members on the basis of sex, race, religion, age, sexual preference, class, age, nationality, or physical ability.
